COMMUNITY
Engaging with the local community has always been at the heart of our business. The Kitchen Garden will be open to the public every Saturday morning for talks on weekly jobs with Toby and to exchange ideas and share tips and advice whilst conveying the story of growing your own food and bringing the idea of sustainable farming to a new generation.
The Kitchen Garden also offers hands-on learning opportunities and ‘grow-your-own’ experiences for local primary school children, and we actively encourage mental health charities, volunteers and the wider community to also come together here.
Our ‘Produce for a Voucher’ initiative enables local gardeners and growers from the surrounding area to swap their home-grown fruit and vegetables for vouchers to use in the Roots + Seeds Kitchen Garden.
Indoor and outdoor play area,
child learning space and dog wash
Our indoor and outdoor play areas encourage interactive learning with parents and carers within a safe, secure environment and is suitable for 1–7 years. The indoor space offers books and educational toys, comfy sofas and beanbags, alongside a more private area for breastfeeding and quiet time. Outside, robust timber climbing frames, a mud kitchen and bug houses are designed for more interactive play
We welcome the whole family, including your four-legged friends. To help with their inevitable muddy paws after a long walk around Cirencester Park, there’s a self-service dog wash facility at The Old Kennels.
